Jonathan Hunt is head of sport, physical activity and wellbeing at Coventry City Council, leading the city’s mission to attract world‑class sporting events that deliver real community impact. A key figure in supporting the London 2012 Olympics in Coventry and Commonwealth Games in 2022, Hunt has built a career on ensuring major events don’t just visit, they leave a legacy.
He is recognised for shaping Coventry into a dynamic host destination where elite sport, commercial success, and social purpose coexist.
Hunt works closely with organisers to make Coventry an easy, commercially viable, and most importantly a collaborative host city. His leadership has helped secure major events such as the Kabaddi World Cup, Rugby League World Cup 2021, British Transplant Games, International Children’s Games, England Lionesses fixtures, and the Billie Jean King Cup.
