I am Head of Sport, Physical Activity and Wellbeing at Coventry City Council, leading the city’s mission to attract world class sporting events that deliver real community impact. A key figure in supporting the London 2012 Olympics in Coventry and Commonwealth Games in 2022, Jonathan has built a career on ensuring major events don’t just visit, they leave a legacy. Jonathan is recognised for shaping Coventry into a dynamic host destination where elite sport, commercial success, and social purpose coexist. He works closely with organisers to make Coventry an easy, commercially viable, and most importantly a collaborative host city. A great summer of Sports events are coming this year in Coventry with British Junior Chess Championships, World Corporate Games and European Youth Touch Rugby Championships. Jonathan’s current role and career is rooted in creating meaningful community outcomes and champions events that are sustainable, purpose driven, and rooted in community wellbeing firmly positioning Coventry as a bold and inclusive destination for world class sport.
