Hi, I'm Dec - Sport & Physical Activity Development Manager at Coventry City Council, working to attract and deliver world‑class sporting events that create meaningful impact for communities across the city. I’ve supported major events hosted in Coventry over recent years, including the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, International Children's Games , Kabaddi World Cup, Rugby League World Cup, British Transplant Games, England Lionesses fixtures, and the Billie Jean King Cup. Our work focuses on making Coventry an outstanding host city — one that brings together elite sport, commercial value, and social purpose. I collaborate closely with event organisers to make Coventry an easy, welcoming, and strategically strong choice for national and international competitions. This year brings another exciting programme of sporting events to Coventry, including the British Junior Chess Championships, World Corporate Games, and the European Youth Touch Rugby Championships. My work is driven by a commitment to ensuring that major events deliver real community benefit — from physical activity participation and wellbeing to inclusive city pride. I’m passionate about helping Coventry stand out as a bold, ambitious, and community‑focused destination for world‑class sport.
